Nature of Governance: Malnad college of engineering is a premier Autonomous institution in the state that follows the guidelines of the UGC. The Governing Council(GC) is a transparent, democratic and decentralized having the representation of all the stake holders. The policies instituted ensures the integrity and governance of the institution. The strategic plan of the organization is developed by a bottom-up approach of the hierarchy that ensures all the stake holders of the organization are involved in its development and implementation. A systemic organisational structure that ensures decentralization of job and responsibilities have been formulated for effective functioning of institute by the establishment of various verticals like Academic council, IQAC, Board of studies, equivalence committee, Anti ragging committee and other statutory committees. The Meeting of the GC will be head at regular intervals to ensure that all the decisions that are taken from time to time on various events like admission, budget, infra structure, teaching learning process, placements are in line with Vision and Mission of the institute. The GC is apprised consistently with action taken reports and minutes of the meetings. Perspective Plans: Internal quality Assurance Cell (IQAC): The IQAC monitors the quality of all the activities conducted in the institute by conducting audits, self audits by faculty, getting feedback on faculty by students, course feedback, Mid course survey, Course end survey, Alumni feedback. It conduct awareness programs, training programs for students, faculty and staff in various areas that include

Development of a cleaner and greener campus by initiating various waste management system Finance: The amount received from various grants, other sources like alumni contribution, admission, funds from government will be transferred to the principals account. the financial requirement such as department budget, infrastructure development for the year will be received from various verticals. The same will be forwarded to the management for approval. Leadership Principal being the head of the institution monitors the mechanism regarding administration and academic processes. Deans carryout various responsibilities related to Admission, Academics, Examination, Student relationships and Research. There are coordinators for various Clubs, NSS, student associations of various departments. The coordinators carry the responsibilities of planning various activities and their smooth conduction of the activities. The leadership is the collaboration of Faculty, Department heads, IQAC, Board of studies for decision making and improving the efficiency of the institution. Responsibilities Following are the responsibilities of deans: Dean Planning and development: Developing strategic plan of the institute and its implementation. Dean Academics : Preparing the Academic Calendar, looking after student registration, approval of syllabus of various Courses. Dean examinations: Preparing the calendar for internal and external exams, Conduction of examination, conduction of Valuation and announcement of results Dean Students: All student related activity Dean Research: All research related activity The Head of the Departments assign workloads to faculty members with the agreement of the Head of the Institution in accordance with their domain competence. The programme Board of studies is chaired by the concerned Head of the Department. Being an autonomous institution, the changes in curriculum and syllabi are approved by the department board of studies, and the overall improvements and changes in the examination pattern and system are approved by the academic council.
