Postgraduate Programme (M.Tech) – Power and Energy Systems
The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (E&EE), established in 1960, has a rich legacy of academic excellence and research. In line with emerging technological needs, the department introduced its first postgraduate programme, M.Tech in Computer Applications in Industrial Drives, in 1994, which successfully ran until 2022. In the same year, the department launched the M.Tech Programme in Power and Energy Systems, aimed at addressing the growing demand for expertise in modern power, energy, and sustainable technologies. Recognized as a research centre by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, the department provides opportunities for Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.) research in both part-time and full-time modes, under the guidance of experienced faculty. With more than 200 research publications, ₹1.80 Crores of funded projects, and state-of-the-art laboratories and computing facilities, the programme ensures a strong foundation in advanced learning, research, and industry-oriented applications, making it a vibrant hub for postgraduate education and research in the field of Power and Energy Systems.
