Malnad college of Engineering celebrates national and international commemorative days , events and festivals in order to promote integrity harmony and to have effective socialization relationship among students and staff of the college institute has organized the following programs in connection with national and international commemorative days, events and festivals. The significance of celebration of these festivals makes the students and staff learns about the country’s rich heritage and history. The following days are celebrated in the college with the true spirit.
Gandhi Jayanti - Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on October 2nd every year to commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, a coastal town in present-day Gujarat, India. The aim of celebrating Gandhi Jayanti in college is to inspire students to imbibe the values that Gandhi stood for and to encourage them to make positive contributions to society.
Republic Day – Republic Day is celebrated on January 26th every year to commemorate the day when the Indian Constitution came into effect in 1950, making India a republic. Our college celebrate the day with various activities and events like Flag hoisting ceremony, Cultural programs, Patriotic speeches etc. the aim of celebrating Republic Day in college is to promote patriotism, celebrate the rich cultural heritage of India, and to inspire students to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.
Independence Day -- Independence day is celebrated on August 15th every year to commemorate India’s independence from British colonial rule in 1947. Celebrating this day in a college setting can be a great way to inspire students to value their freedom and understand the sacrifices made by those who fought for India’s independence. The aim of celebrating Independence Day in college is to promote patriotism, celebrate the rich cultural heritage of India, and to inspire students to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.
Dr. Ambedkar Jayanthi – Dr. B.R Ambedkar Jayanthi is celebrated every year on April 14 to commemorate the memory of B.R. Ambedkar. Dr. Ambedkar is a well known social reformer and also a politician. This day is also referred to as “ Equity Day”,
Celebrating international days in college is an excellent way to promote awareness and appreciation for important issues affecting our world. It can also create a sense of community and bring students and faculty together to work towards a common goal. In India, celebrating these international days can also help promote national values and create a sense of social responsibility among the youth.
