Student Affairs

The Office of Dean Student Affairsfunctions as part of the Administrative sections under Dean (Student Affairs). The nature of assignments carried out by the Student Affairs Section includes the following various heads:

Admission Matters

·         Admission of UG, PG, and Ph. D. Students to the college.

·         Act as a Liaison between MCE and the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

          Bangalore, Vishveshvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, related to Admissions.

·         Maintaining the records of Students (with all the required/ possible information).

·         Issuing of ID cards to the Students, faculty and staff and also to their vehicles own.

·         Issuing of various Certificates as required by the students.

·         Issue of Transfer Certificates, etc.

Scholarships issues

·         Issue of notification for Karnataka Government scholarships, processing of students’    

          records and forwarding the same to the concerned authorities.

·         Issue of notification of other Central Government/Private Scholarships and processing of      

          such records/forwarding the same to the concerned authorities.

·          Issue of notification of MTES Scholarship, initiated by the MTES ®, Hassan.

·         MTES Gold Medals for branch toppers

·         MTES Best outgoing student award

·         Issue of notification of MCE-ALUMNI initiated Scholarships and processing of such

          records. These scholarships include:

Demand Collect and Balance (DCB) section

·         Notification of Student Fee

·         Maintaining of Students fee records

·         Notification of Student Dues and Collections.

 

General Issues

·         Notification of student representatives if each branch of engineering and MCA on

          recommendation of respective Heads of the Departments.

·         Formation of Student Council/ by conducting elections, nominating the elected students

          to various student bodies, addressing the issues related to students, etc.

·         Formation of Anti-ragging committee and maintenance of related records

·         Nominating the Faculty advisers to support student related issues, especially for I year BE.

·         To organize FAREWELL to all out going students during the Even semester term.

·         Addressing the queries of students.

·         To associate and to co-ordinate with various additional committees, such as:

§  Parent Relation Cell (PRC)

§  Campus Disciplinary Committee (CRC)

§  Students’ Counseling Cell (SCC), etc.

·         Issue of notification for Best outgoing student Award,

·         Issue of notification for the Branch toppers Award,

·         Issue of notification for the MTES Gold medals for both the above.

 

Students’ Activities

College Day Celebrations (Malnad Fest).

The College day is organized and celebrated during 11th or 12th week of even semester term by the Students Council of the college, under the stewardship of the Dean (SA). The literary club also extends the required support for the same.

 

Students’ Clubs and Associations:

Students’ Activity Calendar of Events for Odd and Even semesters is notified during the commencement of the well in advance of the respective semesters. Various Clubs/Associations are active within the campus for the college students and outside the campus for school children. They organize and conduct activities in the fields of Art, Technical, Literary, Sports, Cultural and Social issues. The College, District, Zonal and State level activities are conducted during Saturdays and Sundays of Odd and Even semester academic calendar. Office of Dean (Student Affairs) will make necessary arrangements for various Club activities organized by the Student Clubs and Associations of the college. On application submitted by a student, the institute may issue or liaison with Colleges/ University for :

·         Study certificate

·         Bonafied certificate

·         Expenditure certificate for Bank loan.

·         Certificates related to VTU, Belagaum.

·         Transfer Certificate

·         Marks cards (P.G. and Ph. D). (for UG -Dean Exams will issue the required Grade cards)

·         Provisional Degree Certificate (P.G. and Ph. D) and Transcript (P.G.) (for UG -Dean

                       Exams will issue the required PDC and Transcript)

 

STUDENT CREDENTIALS  VERIFICATION AND/ OR CERTIFICATES ISSUED BY THE COLLEGE

Processing Time:

Upon receiving the bank draft and other documents in order, it takes approximately 5 working days from the day of receiving the above documents to process an application (excluding the postal time).

Verification charges

Any agency willing to verify the academic record of a student has to pay:

1.    For alumni who have left the institution within the last 5 years:

Rs.2000/- per record (If request is made within India)

US $ 50.0 (If request is made from abroad)

2.    For alumni who have passed in the last fifth year or beyond:

Rs.2000/- per record (If request is made within India)

US $ 50.0 (If request is made from abroad)

plus an additional fee of  Rs 100/- (If request is made within India) or US $5 (If request is made from abroad) per year for the years exceeding the fifth year.

The above amount may be paid through Bank Draft drawn in favor of
